Meet Hannah:
Hannah was born with a rare congenital condition called bilateral Anopthalmia, which means she was born without eyes. She has received services from the Elizabeth Richardson Center since 11 weeks of age.
“Since Hannah started therapy at ERC, she has grown by leaps and bounds. Their dedication to facilitating therapies that feed her independence and excitement to explore the world around her has been invaluable. Thank you falls short when describing how we feel about the time she has spent at ERC.” -Hannah’s mother, Amber
Early Intervention: Birth to 3 years
The Early Intervention Program serves children from birth to age three. Therapies are provided by a certified teacher and developmental specialist to help each child reach their developmental milestones and to help parents participate in the development of their child. Speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy are provided as prescribed by a physician and are offered in the ERC Child Development Centers.
The goal of the Early Intervention program at ERC is to assist very young children, from 6 weeks to 3 years of age who have been diagnosed with developmental delays and disabilities, reach their developmental milestones and meet their full potential. These Early Intervention services are provided to children and their parents and/or caregivers to help lessen the effects of the conditions that are causing (or could cause) delays in development. The program is based on a team approach that provides families with the resources, support and knowledge needed to insure their child’s success. To learn more about the ERC Early Intervention program or to begin the admission process, please contact the Child Development Center location nearest you.
Preschool: 3 to 5 years
The Child Development Centers serve children from six weeks to five years of age who have been diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability. These include prematurity, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome or seizure disorders, among others. We provide habilitation, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy in a preschool setting with a state-approved curriculum. The mix of children with and without disabilities in a preschool setting prepares all of the children for a life in a community filled with diversity
The Early Childhood Program is a day treatment center with a program that includes children who have no disabilities learning and playing along with children who have been diagnosed with developmental delays. With a wide range of learning styles and teaching options, the children enjoy days full of activities to help them fulfill their individual potential. We have a total of five Child Development Centers located in Farmington, Fayetteville, Huntsville, Springdale and Siloam Springs.
