INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Certain ERC programs will close when there are severe weather conditions such as snow, ice or other severe circumstances.

All ERC programs will close based on the decision of the local school district.  ERC will no longer have separate closing announcements on TV or radio!  If the school district is closed - ERC day programs will be closed!  In Springdale, this includes the adult day programs (Richardson Industries and Life Skills).

The Executive Director or designee shall make the final determination concerning the closing of any program. Once a determination to close has been made, staff should follow these procedures:

  • The preschool programs are closed and teachers and classroom aides may not come to work that day.
  • The administrative/corporate offices will be open and corporate office employees should use their judgment and attempt to come to work if possible.
  • If Springdale public schools are closed, the Life Skills program will be closed to clients, but Life Skills employees should make every reasonable effort to report to work to help at the ICF homes.
  • If Springdale public schools are closed, Richardson Industries will be closed, but RI employees should make every effort to report to work to complete contract work and/or to help at the ICF homes.
  • ICF-MR’s are always open and employees scheduled for ICF-MR shifts shall make every reasonable effort to come to work.  In addition, ICF-MR employees may be required to work extra shifts to accommodate absences and to ensure the safety of residents.

Note: When ERC is closed or when an employee is unable to report for work due to severe weather, the employee will utilize PTO as defined in X. Personnel Procedures/Section Q: PTO.
